Changing Seasons: An Invitation To Slow Down

The changing of seasons is always a great time to check in with yourself.
Reminder: all things in nature have cycles, it's okay for you to cycle too! Nothing in nature is static, be gentle with yourself - ebb and flow, feel the highs, feel the lows.
Transitions can bring up feelings - feelings of endings. Sometimes it is feelings of I didn't do enough this summer! I wanted to get more done around the house. I wanted to go on more adventures. I wanted to spend more time with _____ person. I wanted to spend more time in the water. Feel the feelings, but balance it with the gratitude of all that you did do this summer! The sun on your skin! The later sunsets - which felt like so much more time in each day. The memories you did make. The people you laughed with, danced with, shared with. The increase in the beauty of nature! More flowers, more critters and yes, more bugs!
As we step into fall - allow yourself to slow down a little (without guilt). Enjoy the breeze, the rain, and cool air on your skin. Pull out your favorite sweatshirts and sweaters! Get excited for the next phase of nature's beauty - the changing of the leaves, the emptying of trees, pumpkins and decorations!
Time flies. We’re all on a journey toward something, but the destination isn’t the only sacred part. So is the journey. The changing, the slowing down, the endings, the beginnings - all of it. Don’t forget to honor where you are, too.
