One year ago, I stepped away from my special education teaching career of 16 years.

One of my goals at the time was to help and teach others who want to learn. As a classroom teacher I felt like I was talking to a wall 99% of the time, high schoolers didn't care what I was saying, they had their own ideas paired with a phone addiction.

A couple of months ago, someone asked, "have you started teaching reiki yet?" To be honest, it hadn't crossed my mind. She followed up with, "you know, since you have a background in teaching."

A couple of days later, a client asked me to teach him Reiki level 1.

Since then, two other people have asked me to teach them Reiki level 2 and another person has asked me to teach her Reiki Holy Fire.

I am honored and blessed that people are asking me, of all people, to be their teacher. Words can't express what it means each time someone asks, "will you teach me Reiki?"

Yesterday, June 29th, 2026 was my first Reiki level 1 class - it was amazing! It was fantastic and felt so right! I know it was the first of many!

Reiki has a solid 100+ year history, but it was used even before Usui Sensei.

I am proud and honored to be part of his lineage and to continue healing and teaching others.
